Provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of Psycho-Social Support Programme targeting vulnerable children, adolescents and their families.
Apply monitoring and reporting mechanisms on a variety of levels eg qualitative and quantitative measures for programme development, information for donor reports, etc.
Make frequent field visits to affected areas to monitor implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including additional staffing or staff training. Hold planning and progress review meetings with other counterparts and other relevant partners.
Participate in the development of training programmes and assist in capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as SGBV, psychosocial support, child separation, and armed forces/groups.
Identify child protection cases and refer them adequately to other service providers. Child protection related issues may include, but not be limited to, exploitation and abuse in relation to sexual and other forms of violence, children associated with fighting forces, separated children, child trafficking, access to education, etc.
Identify potential partnerships to implement programmes, make recommendations on how to fill gaps.
Represent the agency/organisation in meetings with other partners and other actors, to advocate and promote programme goals and objectives, and communicate with major partners on policies.
Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs.
Qualifications, experience and competencies:
University Degree in humanitarian affairs, social science, law, development studies, psychology, human sciences or relevant field.
Able to work in unstable, uncertain or potentially dangerous environments, independently and in a team.
Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important.
Experience in supervising and mentoring other staff.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
