Two Senior Advisors/ Engineers For The Water Sector

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH offers the following vacancies in Lebanon:   Two Senior Advisors/Engineers for the Water Sector   Tasks: Support the Project Team Leader with regard to technical concepts and project approaches in the water sector Supervise project related activities within the water sector Close cooperation with partner institutions, particularly the Director General of the Water Establishment and the representatives of host communities as well as donor organizations Support in the general project planning and development of the project design (preparation, organization and facilitation of workshops, results-based monitoring, communication and documentation of project progress) Coordinate the interventions of short-term consultants Supervise the performance of appointed technical staff Other tasks as required by the project   Qualifications/Skills: Engineering degree (master) in water/sanitation related subjects Familiarity with the Lebanese water sector and the modes of delivery of the regional water institutions, the Water Establishments Personal interest in working in a refugee context as well as conflict mitigation and resolution Experience in the organization of workshops, experience of working with water establishments and municipalities mandatory Experience in design, planning and implementation of municipal water constructions works Experience in consulting, tendering and supervision of construction projects in the context of water and/or sanitation Willingness to work outside Beirut and in the concerned host communities Familiar with the use of participatory methods, very good knowledge of English, Arabic as mother tongue, IT / GIS skills   Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the water/sanitation sector in Lebanon   Applications: Only qualified candidates are requested to send their application:  motivation letter and CV to info-lebanon@giz.de before November 30, 2015.
