JOB DESCRPTION Job Title:  Social Worker Location: Lebanon   Main objectives: 1.     The Social Worker implement activities in INTERSOS center (CAFS) and outreach working directly with women, men, youth and children; 2.     Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the center; 3.     Act according to the CPiE Minimum standards and INTERSOS Code of Conduct.   Duties and Responsabilities 1.     Conduct a daily variety of structured activities (recreational, psychosocial and non-formal education) within the center or outside, catering to the needs of children of different ages and genders and accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; 2.     Conduct peer-led focus groups discussions, informal skill training and awareness sessions with children, youth, men and women, accordingly to the center activities weekly schedule; 3.     Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned center, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs; 4.     Plan and design the PSS activities in collaboration with the Senior social worker, the FAC (field activities coordinator), the PSS coordinator and all the team members, accordingly to INTERSOS guidelines on PSS activities; 5.     Identify and refer to the Senior SW and/or the FAC any vulnerable cases of CP and SGBV; 6.     Collaborate with the FAC in the relationship with local stakeholders, service providers, local government bodies (primarily CDSs) and other community services centers during the outreach activities; 7.     Engage the volunteers in the planned socio-recreational activities held at the assigned center; 8.     Maintain daily attendance registers and a weekly and monthly inventory sheets for each activity conducted in collaboration with the Senior SW; 9.     Maintain and fill properly any distribution list or attendance lists for the activities conducted or the distribution done, under the supervision of the Senior RW and FAC; 10.  Informs the supervisors about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation; 11.  Ensure that the supplied Centre material is daily accounted for and secured; 12.  Be update about all new information send by the FAC or the PM concerning the project, the context and the beneficiaries; 13.  Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers and/or in Intersos Beirut office when requested; 14.  Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the PM.   Reporting: 1.     Provide daily basic information about project activities and report on a weekly basis to the Senior SW.   Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with the INTERSOS Office. A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description mat change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his supervisor.   INTERSOS Office LEBANON National Staff Position _____________________________________________________________________________ Position:          Social Worker   Job site:           Mount Lebanon – South Lebanon Report to:         Project Manager Status:              Full time employment contract _______________________________________________________________________ The social worker is responsible of delivering skill-building and empowerment activities for women in South Lebanon.   Project component:   This project aims at scaling-up existing programs in Mount Lebanon and South Lebanon - funded by UNHCR and UNICEF - and to address the unmet needs for gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response. Through the implementation of GBV case management services, it has been noted that specialized services - such as psychological support and legal assistance - are not always available for GBV survivors. Due to the complex and high caseload - coupled with limited resources of specialized service providers - survivors face slow, limited or no follow-up for specialized services, even after being referred from case management agencies, such as INTERSOS: this prevents suitable support to survivors and risks deterring them from accessing crucial services.   Responsibilities/duties for the Social Worker:   Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1.     Conduct interviews with Women and Girls and their families to assess and review their situation in coordination with the social workers of INTERSOS south center and Mount Lebanon. 2.     Undertake and writing up assessments (with the support of the project manager), which meet specified standards and timescales 3.     Offer information and support to service users and their families 4.     Liaising with, and making referrals to, other agencies with the assistance of the project manager 5.     Collaborate with the Skill training facilitator in planning and implementing the skill-building and empowerment activities 6.     Participate in training, supervision and team meetings. 7.     Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the Project Manager       Qualifications §  Education and Experience -       An University Degree in Social work. -       A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience is required. -       Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic   §  Skills and traits:     -       Excellent Communication skills -       Client Orientation approach -       The social worker should have a compassionate, caring, and non-judgmental personality.
