Field Technical Supervisor

Background ACTED is a French humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context. Our 4 000 staff is committed in to responding to emergencies worldwide, to supporting recovery and rehabilitation, towards sustainable development. Our teams in the field implement some 380 projects in 34 countries covering the following sectors emergency relief, food security, access to health, education and training, economic development, microfinance, advocacy, institutional support, and regional dialogue, cultural promotion. ASSIGNMENT The Field Technical Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the WASH and shelter interventions in targeted areas. Under the supervision of the engineers team leader, the technical supervisor will follow-up on ongoing works in different households to ensure proper quality installations. The technical supervisor will also support contractor-led works and conduct technical assessment and develop BOQs. FUNCTIONS ACTED is currently implementing WASH and Shelter programs in Beirut and Mount Lebanon through assigned contractors for rehabilitations and beneficiary-led upgrades for smaller works. The Field Technical Supervisor will be in charge of developing BOQs with precise measurements and dimensions for targeted beneficiaries. He/she will also support beneficiaries conducting their own works and guide them throughout the whole process, in addition to identifying a pool of potential skilled workers to support ongoing works when needed. Qualifications  At least two years of experience in construction works in an urban context  Technical degree in relevant field (Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing…)  Arabic language is mandatory, English is an asset  Computer skills (Excel, Word)
