1. Role and responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities (max 10)
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.
Implement, monitor and report on Water and Sanitation activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards.
Mobilize communities, community leaders & WASH committee members for the building materials, construction activities and maintenance of structures.
Suggest new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities.
Administrate payment requests for partners, contractors, suppliers, construction workers etc.
Report all protection related concerns
Carry out data collection as required
Prepare and file relevant documents according to procedures
Engage with your team members, WASH committee members, and other stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
Monitor water and sanitation facilities acceptance and beneficiary satisfaction
Share your skills and experience within the team and learn from your colleagues.
Engage with WASH committee members when working in informal settlements.
Be aware of the importance of good relationships with the communities in and outside of informal settlements
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
Shelter: coordinate in close collaboration with Shelter in relation to shelter activities in ITSs
CCB : day-to-cay coordination and collaboration with CCB team with joint-field visits, etc.
ICLA: ensuring the team is ready to deal with referral cases and follow up communication with beneficiaries

Qualifications:
Vocational training in site-construction works, plumbing, infrastructural works

Experience from working with water and sanitation projects in a humanitarian context
Knowledge of plumbing, water networks
Handling insecure environments
Teamwork, able to engage with WASH committees, refugees, communities.
Planning and delivering results
Communicate with impact, respect taking into consideration context
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Mobile electronic data collection (Mobenzi, KoboCollect)
MS Excel skills
Some knowledge of English (speaking and writing)
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Experience with engaging with (WASH) committees and surrounding communities a plus
