Case Management Supervisor/coordinator

The new project of Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) aims at providing Child Protection case management service in the North-Bekaa. Moving from the established TDH community centers of Arsal and Jdejde, 2 mobile teams composed by 3 caseworkers each. The intervention is designed following up the needs observed within the TDH operational areas over the past 3 years. Survival sex, domestic violence, violence in schools, neglect and lack of access to services, child labor, children with disabilities, children showing PS distress, unaccompanied or separated children, denial of humanitarian access to children are the main problematic issues that the project intend to address trough individual case management. The Project is developed in strict coordination with the Child Protection and Psychosocial activities developed by Terre des Hommes Italia in the North of the Bekaa, through the collaboration with municipalities, local and refugee communities and MOSA in 6 centers (including Community Centers and SDSs) and in outreach. Job Overview: The CM supervisor will lead the CW, SW and CF to ensure quality case management of Child Protection cases by providing  operational and technical support, informing the beneficiaries about all available services, helping in drafting of cases’ action plan and, referring to adequate services. The supervisor will also ensure continuous guidance to CM team and case workers in supporting and in collaboration with the Case Management Specialist. Major Responsibilities: Under the direct responsibility of the CM Project Manager, and in close collaboration with the CM Specialist, the CM supervisor will:  Supervise and monitor the service provision and ensure that cases under assistance receive all the care and support needed Assist the CM and CP team in the detection of most vulnerable cases Ensure the internal and external  SOPs, guidelines, referral and coordination mechanisms for assistance to children are in place Conduct weekly case management meeting with CM team, providing technical advice on cases and psychosocial support to caseworkers. Ensure that complex cases are followed up in the agreed time frame Support individual cases where required and provide regular monitoring of all aspects of case management services Ensure staff gaps and training needs do not result in gaps in support to individuals in case management, and address such issues with senior management Monitor timescales for response, services follow-up and review of cases. Ensure cases are receiving appropriate support Facilitate and attend case conferences for complex cases. Ensure case conferences are called involving relevant stakeholders Review staff caseloads to ensure they are manageable and share challenges with senior management Ensure access to material, logistical, and further technical support and set eligibility criteria for material and other support Monitor the documentation of cases through review of files and databases. Ensure confidentiality and that data protection and information-sharing protocols are respected. Review, analyze and report on trends in the case management to inform programming Provide briefings on child safeguarding and appropriate behavior with children to all case management staff. Ensure any concerns are reported and addressed immediately. Assist in developing of capacity building plans Provide on job coaching and training to CM team Provide individual and group supervision Monitor the case management process using the supervisor’s supervision and monitoring tools Promote strategies of self-care Other duties Collaborate closely with the CM Specialist Coordinate and collaborate with CP project manager and CP field team Attend CP working group and sub groups meetings as required Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of oneself; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for programs Reporting as required Other duties as assigned by the CM project manager Maintains the highest standards of professional conduct   Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to:  CM Project Manager Indirect Reporting: CP Expert and CP Program Manager Collaborates with: CM Specialist Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: other members of the Case Management team and members from other TDH IT programs in the field   External: local partner –Other NGOs/INGOs   Qualifications and experience A university degree in social and behavioral sciences, preferable Social Work At least 4 years of experience in Case Management Proven experience in Child Protection Demonstrated experience in people management Ability to formulate strategic documents for programming, engagement, and coordination involving organizations and Government. Experience in and knowledge of Syria situation and response is considered a strong asset. High-level communication skills, including ability to speak formally, negotiate, demonstrate tact and diplomacy, and advocate for child protection issues with humanitarian community and authorities. Demonstrated experience in building capacity of teams and staff. Fluency in English and Arabic. Commitment to the aims, principles and values of TDH IT. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure and in response to changing needs. Ability to plan well, set own targets and meet them.   Note: The accomodation in Jdeidit Al Fakha - North Bekaa will be provided by TDH. It is a non family station (which means we provide accomodation only for the employee but not the whole family if married or has dependents).
