Our ultimate mission is to empower Lebanese citizens - through improving their socioeconomic status, healthcare provisions, and environmental awareness, and by encouraging their quest for education - thereby enabling them to independently develop and progress their local communities, and to subsequently enhance the country’s civil society on a national scale.   For the last three years, in response to the on-going refugee crisis in Lebanon, the Makhzoumi Foundation Relief and Humanitarian Services Unit (MFRHSU)has been working from our Beirut office to deliver emergency and recovery projects in Hygiene, Shelter, Protection, Health and Livelihood Recovery sectors. The Makhzoumi Foundation is now expanding its remit through a new project to offer Child Protection Case Management services to both Palestine Refugee and vulnerable Lebanese children living in the Beirut/Mount Lebanon area. Makhzoumi Foundation will establish a new team that will provide support to children who are at risk and families in need.   SCOPE OF WORK:  MFRHSU is seeking Child Protection Case Workers and to conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect and violence, and their families. Caseworkers will also be involved in the delivery of awareness sessions to children and caregivers within the community, participating in the identification of and engagement with Community Outreach Volunteers, and support the establishment of committees from the local communities to promote Child Protection issues.     This is will be the first project within Beirut/Mount Lebanon to provide specific child protection case management services to the Palestine Refugee community and will therefore require a particular skill set and aptitude in order to engage the community positively and effectively.   Job Overview: The MF Protection programme is seeking Child Protection Case Workers and to conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect and violence and their families.  General duties and responsibilities: To ensure cases harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals and follow ups for an assigned case load To provide support to vulnerable children and families with protection concerns in the process of psychosocial support and case management. To directly work with other caseworkers and service providers on management of caseload and referral Act at all times according to guiding principles of Child Protection case management including:   Ensuring confidentiality Prioritization according to safety concerns Anti-discriminatory practice Ensuring accountability Respecting professional boundaries and avoiding conflicts of interest Case Management: Participate in and support the identification of individual cases identified by the team or referred by other agencies. Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioural, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well-being. Plan with the Team Manager to conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases. Ensure the preparation of accurate case plans for high-risk cases identified with clear outcomes and time-frames. In collaboration with the Supervisor, advocate with different institutions and service providers in the area of intervention to help beneficiaries to access needed resources and services, and ensure good coordination for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing. Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness. Collect accurate and confidential data on GBV service provision using the GBV Information Management System (SGBV Cases) Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided. Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases. Participate in management of the hotline. Participate in weekly casework allocation and planning meetings. Ensure that data protection protocols are respected. Be available to participate in meetings and training in and outside the centre including case management meetings, case conference meetings or any other meetings when required. Communicate regularly with the supervisor for updates on achievements and challenges Accomplish any other assignments allocated by line managers.  Psychosocial activities: Participate and collaborate in recreational, psychosocial, awareness activities conducted in or outside of the centre. Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside of the centre.     Who this position reports to: The Social Worker accepts work from and reports to the Senior Social Worker and the Social Work Manager     Monitoring and Reporting: Provide daily and weekly updates to the Social Work Manager on cases assessed and supported. Support the Senior Social Worker in the production of daily weekly reports to the Social Work Manager, Protection Coordinator and Unit Coordinator. Contribute to the update of the Makhzoumi Foundation case management system and UNHCR RAIS.     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel…) Well-developed organizational and planning skills Self-motivation and strong team spirit Native Arabic speaker and fluent in English Excellent reporting skills Dynamic personality and ability to work under pressure Commitment  to the values, vision and mission of the Makhzoumi Foundation Commitment to the Makhzoumi Foundation code of conduct     Education & Experience:   Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social work, Counselling, Psychology or other related field. 1 year of experience in social work related to case management in particular in humanitarian crisis preferred. Experience working with refugee population preferred.   Working Environment:  Office work and field visits.
