Lebanon Water Project - Gender Advisor

  Lebanon Water Project (LWP)   Call for Resumes   Gender Advisor, Long term position   Background: DAI seeks Gender Advisor candidates for the USAID-funded “Lebanon Water Project (LWP).” This five year project will work to increase reliable and sustainable access to potable water for Lebanese citizens; improve water management practices and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of public water utilities, while raising awareness on sustainable water use practices and promote better water governance to help assure long-term protection of Lebanon’s water resources. General Objective:   The Gender Advisor will be responsible for the design and implementation of LWP’s Gender Analysis and gender integration strategy.   Responsibilities:   Develop, implement, and monitors the Gender analysis and Gender Integration Plan in coordination with LWP technical      team. Supports the development and implementation of gender analyses of water establishments and guides efforts to ensure      service delivery meets the needs of all citizens and that community engagement efforts effectively include women. Using sex-disaggregated data, monitors the impact of performance data. Leads coordination for the initial gathering and analyzing of gender data, and conducts programmed surveys and assessments      among targeted women’s groups. Develops verifiable indicators to monitor impact of the program on women participants. Participates in the design of evolving program activities, to ensure that any relevant women’s issues are addressed and      women are included in the dialogue with clients. Provides written periodic progress reports to the Chief of Party on the gender program. Works with Communications Team to explore new media to conduct polls and surveys to ensure women’s points of view are incorporated into activities.   Qualifications:   Master’s degree in gender, development, or relevant field. 10-15 years of experience working on women’s issues and/or civil society programs in Lebanon. Experience working with local organizations in developing, planning, and implementing support programs aimed at increasing gender awareness and integration. Experience with monitoring and evaluation data collection and analyses, specifically gender disaggregated data.
