On-Call Airport Assistant

General: Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Senior Operations officer the incumbent will perform the following functions:   Assist in the organization of transiting passengers/migrants through Beirut International Airport travelling under IOM auspices. Assist in the organization of individuals returning to resettlement countries under IOM auspices.   Provide assistance with IOM activities/office at Beirut International Airport. Meet and assist IOM staff or other persons in need of assistance upon arrival in Beirut International Airport. Assist and facilitate border crossing and escort of Migrants/refugees at the Border of Syria and Lebanon when required Assist Operations unit at Beirut office in all administrative/clerical matters including the completion of travel documents or documentation related to exit formalities of  departing migrants and refugees In coordination with IOM Beirut, verify that the travel arrangements for resettlement/and other movement related operations meet the relevant criteria with regards to proper documentation, valid travel documents and required exit visas before departure. Prepare IOM bags and finalize departure formalities for refugees including WARRANT and Promissory note. Assist in conducting pre-departure briefings  to refugees concerning departure procedures, flight details, and luggage allowance. Liaise and assist passengers with all check in formalities and immigration procedures at the airport. Confirm departure of passengers to Senior/Operations staff advising any cancellation or no show at Beirut International Airport. Prepare and update movement schedule on a weekly basis Assist Operations unit at Beirut office in all matters related to administrative and clerical work and in particular to the completion of travel documents or documentation related to exit formalities of departing migrants and refugees when required. Perform any other duties he/she may be assigned.
