Our ultimate mission is to empower Lebanese citizens - through improving their socioeconomic status, healthcare provisions, and environmental awareness, and by encouraging their quest for education - thereby enabling them to independently develop and progress their local communities, and to subsequently enhance the country’s civil society on a national scale.   For the last three years, in response to the on-going refugee crisis in Lebanon, the Makhzoumi Foundation Relief and Humanitarian Services Unit has been working from our Beirut office to deliver emergency and recovery projects in Hygiene, Shelter, Protection, Health and Livelihood Recovery sectors. The Makhzoumi Foundation is now expanding its remit through a new project to offer new services under the Protection Sector Beginning in with development of services in Beirut & Mount Lebanon. Makhzoumi Foundation will be partnering with IRC and Unicef to establish teams that will provide Case Management, Psychosocial Support & Community mobilization activities to children who are at risk, families in need and women and girls who are at risk of Sexual & Gender Based Violence.   Job Overview/Summary:  MF RHSU is seeking to recruit an Adolescent Girls Worker who will work as part of the SGBV Team. She will be responsible for mobilizing and responding to the needs of adolescent girls in the communities and MF RHSU centre and assisting other staff in doing so, in order to mitigate the exposure of adolescent girls to SGBV and strengthen their positive coping skills. Major Responsibilities: Risk mitigation & community mobilization Participate in assessment exercises to identify vulnerable adolescent girls that the team should target. Support in outreach activities, providing information to adolescent girls on activities and services available. Support staff in the identification of hard to reach girls and vulnerability criteria. Participate in and lead GBV risk assessments with the community mobilizers to ensure risks faced by adolescent girls are adequately captured. Participate in discussion with gatekeepers and parents with the AGs focal points regarding activities offered to adolescent girls, including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) around issues related to adolescent girls (safety, education, early marriage etc.). Provide regular updates to the SGBV Team Leader and Protection Coordinator on common threats and needs of adolescent girls to inform program design and advocacy initiatives. Support in the identification and training of adolescent girl focal points and mentors in the community to enable them to support other girls in the community assess and respond to common risks and threats. Use agreed-upon reporting formats to ensure risk mitigation activities and their findings are well documented and utilized for program adaptation, advocacy and referrals. Psychosocial support & life-skills development               Mobilize adolescent girls in target locations, along with the AGs focal points, community mobilizers and case workers to participate in psychosocial activities provided by MF RHSU, including emotional support groups, skills-building, non-formal education and recreational activities. Facilitate life-skills activities targeting adolescent girls with both mobile and centre based curricula. Use agreed-upon monitoring and evaluation tools to track adolescent girls’ participation in activities and collect their feedback. Other Draft and contribute to regular weekly and monthly reports. Promptly report concerns or incidents to MF management and liaise with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for MF programs Engage with the coaching and training support provided to MF through IRC. Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop MF programs   Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: SGBV Team Leader  Indirect Reporting: Community Mobilizers, Caseworkers, Protection Coordinator. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelors Degree in social science, women’s studies or other relevant area. Work Experience: Minimum 1 year professional experience in community-based Protection or GBV programming, preferably in an emergency context Experience working with adolescent girls, including facilitating training and/or activities targeting adolescent girls Experience training or coaching other staff within the organization or in a partner organization Experience working in NGO is a plus Experience in working in a cross-cultural environment preferable  Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:  Flexible, network-builder, enjoys working in the field Positive and professional attitude, including ability to work well in a team setting, Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail Clear and demonstrated understanding of gender inequality, human rights, and issues surrounding violence against women and girls Good communication and interpersonal skills Language Skills:  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic & English Certificates or Licenses: Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.   Working Environment:  Combination of centre based and mobile in the field.   The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.
