We are looking for a highly qualified to fit the position of GBV Caseworker in Tripoli. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobProviding case management and psychosocial support to women and girls and particularly gender-based violence survivors Duties•In compliance with best-practice and international standards in GBV response, provide direct psychosocial support for vulnerable women and girls and particularly GBV survivors. Case management services will include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery, implementing the action plan and ensuring appropriate follow up and close the case when appropriate. The case management process should be implemented through a survivor-centered approach; •Provide age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable adolescent girls and children through the implementation of tools developed for caring for child survivors and in the best interest of the child. •Support the development of age-appropriate and needs-driven recreational, educational and skills-building activities for women and girls in safe spaces through coordination with relevant actors (DRC community development section and implementing partners).  •File and store GBV data in the gender-based violence information management system(GBV IMS) in compliance with the information sharing protocol developed at the inter-agency level; •Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and ensure that caseworkers are informed about the available services; •Receive referrals from different agencies, do action plan and appropriate response to each case;•Work closely with the child protection section when GBV cases involve child survivors, particularly when assessing best interest of the child; About youTo be successful in this role you must have Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field;  Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; Ability to provide technical support, trainings and supervision of GBV case workers;Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility; Flexibility in working overtime when needed; Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well and At least 2 years of experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence or vulnerable women and girls;  Ideally you will also have Master degree in gender studies, social work and/or psychology and Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings and previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1 November 2015 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
