Psychologist (Home Of Hope) (Re-Post)

General objective of the job: To assess psychological needs and provide individual counselling therapy for children in Home of Hope   Position reports to the senior social worker   Result areas   1.         Assess needs and deliver sessions: Assess children’s needs, abilities or behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews, assessment of mental health needs, risk assessment and direct observation of behavior; Plan and implement therapy; Monitor progress of children’s mental wellbeing with appropriate treatment programs, including therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with the social worker; Evaluate outcome of therapy; Establish a collaborative working relationship with the children based on trust and respect;   2.         Provide staff care: Plan and lead staff care sessions with each individual staff in Home of Hope Organize and implement stress management training for staff Advise staff on positive and healthy coping mechanism   4.         Ensure proper filing and information keeping Develop and maintain a filing system of children respecting confidentiality Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside, social workers and education professional. Write monthly reports and record-keeping;       Knowledge and Experience   Degree in psychology At least 3 years of relevant experience Proven previous experience in working with children Knowledge of child rights   Skills and Competencies   Strong communication skills Strong computer skills Fluency in Arabic Strong English skills Flexibility Cultural sensitivity Ability to work under pressure and in a stressful situation Time management   “Adherence to the Child Safety Policy is essential”
