Community Health Promoter (Marjaayoun And Hasbaya Area) - 2 Positions

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision you will be responsible for health promotion educational and awareness activities in informal tent settlements in the area of Maarjayoun and Hasbaya area (Marjayoun, El Ouazzani, Sarada …) in south-east Lebanon. You will be promoting MSF medical services, organizing individual and group awareness session about health problems (chronic disease, family planning, hygiene …) in order to improve the health condition of the patients, their families and communities they live in.   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively promote the availability of medical services in MSF Mobile clinic (Maarjayoun, Shebaa and Qlaaya). Conduct daily individual and group health promotion awareness sessions for patients and their families in informal tent settlements in the area of Maarjayoun and Hasbaya area (Marjayoun, El Ouazzani, Sarada …). Participate in the creation of health promotion educational material (brochures, flyers, posters, videos …). Create inventive ways for communicating messages (songs, games, short theatre plays …). Establish and maintain contacts with camp leaders, social partners, NGOs working in informal tent settlements in south-east Lebanon. Collect and report to the medical team all type of information related to specific health and living conditions in informal tent settlements. Report health promotion activities on daily basis. On request perform other additional activities given by the Health promotion manager in order to allow the medical activities to be carried out optimally and to support MSF Mobile clinic medical team.     REQUIREMENTS: Work experience Minimum 1 year of previous experience on similar position is required (health promotion, nursing, social or community work, teaching). Very good knowledge of refugee context and current situation in informal tent settlements in the area of Maarjayoun and Hasbaya area (Marjayoun, El Ouazzani, Sarada …) is required. Familiarity with chronic diseases (diabetes, high blood pressures, asthma …), respiratory and intestinal infections, skin diseases, basic hygiene … Previous work experiences with MSF or other NGOs are highly desirable.   Personal qualities Excellent communicator Punctual, organised and reliable Flexible and able to work in multicultural and sometimes stressful environment Very good management skills
