Community Facilitator In North Bekaa

The new project of Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) aims at providing Child Protection case management service in the North-Bekaa. The intervention is designed following up the needs observed within the TDH operational areas over the past 3 years. Survival sex, domestic violence, violence in schools, neglect and lack of access to services, child labor, children with disabilities, children showing PS distress, unaccompanied or separated children, denial of humanitarian access to children are the main problematic issues that the project intend to address trough individual case management. The Project is developed in strict coordination with the Child Protection and Psychosocial activities developed by Terre des Hommes Italia in the North of the Bekaa, through the collaboration with municipalities, local and refugee communities and MOSA in 6 centers (including Community Centers and SDSs) and in outreach.   Job Overview: A community facilitator will engage with the community, partners and stakeholders to facilitate information provision, awareness and training sessions. The community facilitator will also support social workers and case workers in identification and referral. Major Responsibilities: To maintain regular contacts with the local stakeholder, with a specific focus on Syrian Community residing in the area, Lebanese local Community and Local Authority. To conduct Community Outreach activities (home visits, focus group, community meetings). To support in the preparation of special events, recreational, cultural and sport activities together with project staff. To give help and support the CM staff To participate in coaching and training sessions. To participate in the preparation, execution and organization of Awareness sessions. To assess the needs of beneficiaries and to contribute to the establishment of a referral system. To maintaining regular contacts with the referral organizations and other stakeholders, to feed back the referral system. To report any kind of abuse. To plan and request the material needed for the activities of the CM team Keep a database of stakeholders and local partners To comply with the TDH-It Code of Conduct Any other task relevant to the position.     Other Collaborate closely with the other members of the CM team and the CP team Regularly attend CM meetings at field level Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to management and  liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct   Key Working Relationships:   Position Reports to:  Case Manager Indirect Reporting: CM Project Manager and Case Management Specialist Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: other members of the Case Management team (case workers and social workers) and members from other TDH IT programs in the field   External: local partner –Other NGOs/INGOs   Job Requirements: Education: Technical or university degree on social and behavioral science, preferable social work or any other related field Work Experience: 1 year work experience in child protection programs in development or emergency, preferable community mobilization or facilitation or social work Experience in working in a cross cultural environment preferable  Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:  Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoy field work Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Good communication skills Time management and organizational skills Others:  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus Microsoft Office: Word and Excel is a must Valid Lebanese driving license Availability of a car is an asset   Travel and other requirements: Staff will be based in the North or Bekaa, with travel required between the governorates and the main TDH IT office in Beirut.   Working Environment:  100% field work
