Social Worker In North Bekaa

The new project of Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) aims at providing Child Protection case management service in the North-Bekaa. The intervention is designed following up the needs observed within the TDH operational areas over the past 3 years. Survival sex, domestic violence, violence in schools, neglect and lack of access to services, child labor, children with disabilities, children showing PS distress, unaccompanied or separated children, denial of humanitarian access to children are the main problematic issues that the project intend to address trough individual case management. The Project is developed in strict coordination with the Child Protection and Psychosocial activities developed by Terre des Hommes Italia in the North of the Bekaa, through the collaboration with municipalities, local and refugee communities and MOSA in 6 centers (including Community Centers and SDSs) and in outreach.   Job Overview: A Social worker shall be able to conduct all steps of case management process addressing an individual child’s (and their family’s) needs through direct support and referrals and in accordance with project objectives. A SW shall also facilitate the awareness sessions, meetings and trainings in the area. Major Responsibilities: Technical: Identify individual cases in collaboration with CP north Bekaa team and through regular presence in the community Accept referrals from other agencies and community partners Provide individual case management for children and their families in accordance with all case management standard operating procedures Ensure the correct documentation and compilation of CM forms in accordance with all case management standard operating procedures Update regularly the database to ensure a comprehensive record of the database Ensure that all cases are addressed immediately and shared with the supervisor  Work closely with the other organization in order to ensure smooth referral Participate actively in weekly case management team meetings Provide ongoing support to families, foster and alternative care systems Communicate regularly with supervisor, CM Project Manager and CM Specialist for updates on achievements and challenges Organize and facilitate awareness session for care givers in coordination with CP team Participate in CP Committee meetings and CPU meetings   Other Collaborate closely with the other members of the CM team and the CP team Directly communicate with other caseworkers and service providers as part of conducting individual case management Regularly attend case management meetings at field level Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to management and  liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for programs Other duties as assigned by the supervisor Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct   Key Working Relationships:   Position Reports to:  Case Manager/ Psychologist Indirect Reporting: CM Project Manager and Case Management Specialist Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: other members of the Case Management team and members from other TDH IT programs in the field   External: local partner –Other NGOs/INGOs   Job Requirements: Education: Degree in social and behavioral science, preferable social work or any other related field Work Experience: 1 year work experience in child protection programs in development or emergency, preferable social work or case management Experience in working in a cross cultural environment preferable  Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:  Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoy field work Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Good communication skills Time management and organizational skills Others:  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus Microsoft Office: Word and Excel is a must Valid Lebanese driving license Availability of a car is an asset   Working Environment:  70% field work
