Field Assistant

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Field Assistant to work within our M&E team and provide support to the Programme team with a focus on our Cash assistant activities.  Who are weThe Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobThe Field Assistant is line managed by the M&E Officer, and will provide direct support to the programme team carrying out assessments for the cash assistance programme, supporting monitoring and evaluation activities, assisting with reporting and IM activities and any other tasks as required by the M&E officer. Duties• Organise and conduct socio-economic vulnerability assessments for DRC’s cash assistance programme• Conduct participatory monitoring activities with DRC beneficiaries to get information and feedback on the quality and relevance of assistance;• Regularly undertake field monitoring trips to conduct household interviews, post-distribution monitoring, focus group discussions, and community visits;• Ensure accurate data collection, entry, and upload;• Assist with reporting and IM tasks;• Assist with all other duties as required by the MEL Officer/Manager; and Area Programme Manager. About youEssential• Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience – preferably in social work, community development, non-government, and/or outreach organizations;• Undergraduate degree/advanced diploma in social sciences, humanities, quantitative/qualitative research methods, public health, or related field OR high school diploma with significant professional experience;• A current driving license, held for at least two years;• Good knowledge of local context and community in the Central & West Bekaa/ North Bekaa area;• Languages: Fluency (native speaker) in written and spoken Arabic, good working knowledge of written and spoken English;• IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite (Excel experience preferred); • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and a strong team spirit;• Self-motivated and organized with a demonstrated capacity to manage time and personal work plan;• Optimistic attitude and a great sense of humor are essential requirements of the position! Preferable• Experience working in cash programming• Experience working with communities, families and individuals with special needs;• Experience using survey and/or database software and tools. You must be available to start work ASAP and be willing and able to work in Bekaa.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
