Job Overview / Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant is responsible for assisting operations of the education projects M&E system to support programme management and accountability functions. He/she contributes toward the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of IRC programming. The M&E Assistant will be the field-based focal point for the M&E Manager in Beirut, and will oversee the implementation of M&E activities to support community-based formal school support. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee monthly field-based reporting of program activities (RAIS and Activity Info) under the supervision of the Beirut based M&E Manager Oversee the implementation of field-based monitoring tools (focus group discussions, key informant interviews, child satisfaction surveys) Run verification visits of the field-based monitoring tools Produce draft reports as per the M&E plan (ITT) Assist in organizing training on M&E tools and methodology Support the field teams in qualitative and quantitative data collection Timely identification of program issues and verification of program data Competency and oversight of ODK/ONA tablet-based data collection system Ensure that project level means of verification are available and organized at program regions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: University degree in social science, education, pedagogy, or related field Minimum of 1 year working experience in the field of education and/or community-level humanitarian work overseeing community-level programming (awareness sessions, parenting) Experience with implementing/conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection at field level Experience in training and capacity building for M&E activities Experience with reporting and verification Knowledge of ODK/ONA data systems and strong excel skills Experience in working with communities for data collection and/or verification Working experience in NGO a plus Fluency in written and spoken Arabic required; English a plus     Travel and other requirements: The position will be based in Beirut with regular travel to field sites in Bekaa and Akkar.
