Pte Cncd Counsellor – Bekaa Valley – Hermel

-Scope of responsibility:     •   Ensure accurate and comprehensive education of the patient, on his medical condition, his treatment, and his follow-up management, in the perspective of chronic diseases to achieve better specific care, increase autonomy and adherence to treatment.   -Function responsibilities include: Know, apply and make sure universal hygiene standards and security rules are respected for medical premises. Carry out therapeutic and healthy life style education of the CNCD patients (and family) as required using a patient based approach in conjunction with nurse helper and health promoter. On education session deal with CNCD patients modifying healthy behavior  related to diet, physical activity, maintaining Normal weight,Coping stress, cession of smoking and alcohol. Refer all cases requiring social / psychological assessment/intervention to field social worker with sharing information to Doctor and Nurse/HE supervisor. Provide support group sessions. Active participation in the meetings requested from the Nurse/HE supervisor. Ensure a proper and regular follow-up of the patients, through a specific individual file and using validated  educational tools. Collect and maintain statistical database and analysis and Provides a detailed monthly report of activities to Nurse and HE supervisor ( including teaching methodology, Group or individual or others challenges, action plans, possible solutions and recommendations).

-Experience required:
2 years’ experience of relevant experience.
Experience with chronic diseases is an asset.

-Required qualification:
 Education: nursing degree or degree medical sciences.
 Fluent Arabic required ability to communicate in English.
 Good communication skills, ability to listen, diplomacy.
 Ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people.
 Ability to be self-directed and take initiative.
 Open-minded, patient.
 Must be prepared to undertake any additional training that MSF deems appropriate and necessary.
