Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way societies deal with conflicts. We have acquired over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and are based in 53 local offices worldwide. SFCG first worked in Lebanon in 1996, and we opened up our office here in 2008. The issues we address are multiple, such as conflicts arising within Lebanon's diverse society, tensions resulting from the increasing influx of Syrian refugees, security sector reform, as well as women’s socio-economic empowerment. In each project we seek to engage all stakeholders and strengthen local capacities in order to create sustainable change and increase social cohesion.
Summary of Position
The Programme Assistant/Officer will be responsible of liaising with partners and local authorities, support the Country Director and Programme Director in the strategic planning, support DME tea, assist in organizing brainstorming meetings and reflection days over matters such as proposal development and strategic development.
He/she will also be responsible of drafting donors’ reports, inform over all programming by continuous update of conflict analysis. Follow activities on the ground and collect best practices and lesson learned.
The Programme Assistant/Officer will Assist Programme Director and Country Director in fundraising designing and writing of new projects’ proposals.
Responsibilities
1. Liaise with local partners and local authorities to develop new proposals and identify best potential partners.
2. Support the Country Director and Programme Director in the strategic planning (set up team meetings, meeting minutes, follow up with tasks and to do list etc.)
3. Support DME team with preparing for evaluations and baselines, conduct case studies, develop data collection tools and analyzing data.
4. Assist in organizing reflection days and team strategic retreats.
5. Organize brainstorming meetings with project staff for proposal development.
6. Conduct research for proposal development.
4. Follow activities on the ground in order to better plan future interventions, collect best practices and lessons learned.
5. Draft donors report and progress reports.
6. Update context and conflict analysis to inform overall programming and strategic planning.
7. Support with fundraising, designing and writing of new projects’ proposals, including budget development.
8. Assist Programme Director and Country Director in Liaising with donors, partners and other relevant actors about SFCG Lebanon programming and projects.

Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Masters degree in international relations, political and social sciences, peace and conflict studies, international development studies or a related field.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position.
Track record of previous achievement in fundraising.
Familiarity with budget development
Skills
Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners from different backgrounds;
Dynamic with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Spoken and written fluency in English is an must, proficiency in French is a plus
Strong oral and written communications skills;
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability;
Experience required:
2-3 years with an INGO
Education degree: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Master’s degree in international relations, political and social sciences, peace and conflict studies, international development studies or a related field.
Knowledge of the Lebanon and Syria context
Knowledge of peace building, conflict transformation, conflict resolution, conflict transformation and DME.
