DORCAS is implementing a program for disabled in Egypt in order to empower children and youth living with disabilities to overcome the social, psychological, health and economic barriers obstructing their effective enjoyment and their full inclusion in broader society.
The two main goals of the evaluation are:
To assess the quality of the care & education provided to the PLWD in the centre
To assess whether the programme has an impact on the acceptance and integration of PLWD in their communities.
Before designing the new Disabled programme in Egypt (2016-2018) there is a need to conduct an evaluation to assess how effective and sustainable the programme has been and how it can build on the experience to increase the impact of this work and promote inclusion of People living with disability at community and society level.
The evaluation covers all centres established under the programme, but will not include the centre for visually impaired or the centre for the deaf.
The evaluator(s) conducting this evaluation will need to have the following qualifications:
Good knowledge and experience in people living with disability programmes
Good knowledge of sustainable development
Good knowledge and experience in working in a developing country (with disabled)
