Quality Control Consultant

As part of the project "Multi-sector assistance for vulnerable Syrian refugees and Lebanese host communities in South Lebanon through an integrated and holistic approach", financed by UNICEF and implemented by AVSI in South Lebanon[1], AVSI is looking to reach the following objectives in four sectors of intervention: Nutrition: Increase the access of mother and children to nutrition services through the reinforcement of capacities of caregivers and primary healthcare institutions. Education: Ensure that the right to education for all children (girls and boys) is fulfilled in a protective learning environment; strengthen the system to deliver quality education to respond to the escalating Syrian crisis in a protective learning environment. Child Protection: Vulnerable children and adults are protected from violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect with strengthened child protection services, systems and policies. WASH: Most vulnerable children and caregivers live and learn in a safe and hygienic environment. Main Responsabilities : Carry out an analysis of AVSI’s activities on field under Education and Child Protection by conducting field visits to project locations and holding meetings with key staff. Carry out a desk review of relevant existing procedures, curricula and materials, both pertaining to the Lebanon country office and AVSI worldwide. Based on the above, identify, formulate and conceptualize standards for AVSI’s work in the various sectors, included by not limited to: a) organization of work on field, both in urban areas and in ITSs, b) relations with local authorities and other local counterparts, c) modalities of outreach, d) mapping of materials and standards used, e) monitoring and evaluation processes, f) approaches on how to deal with beneficiaries. Produce an SOP document, and liaise with the various focal points in AVSI to ensure that such document is in line with AVSI’s current and future strategies and plans. Organize a final workshop targeting AVSI’s management in which the SOP will be presented. Other ad hoc quality control tasks on field, as agreed upon with the management.
