Background:
The John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program provides voluntary technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, and agribusinesses in developing countries to promote sustainable capacity building. The program relies on the expertise of U.S. volunteers from diverse backgrounds—farms, land grant universities, cooperatives, private agribusinesses, nonprofit farm organizations and others—to respond to the needs of host country farmers and organizations. Typically, volunteers spend about 14 to 21 days in the host country.
In October 2013, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) initiated a new phase of the F2F Program. Land O’Lakes International Development was awarded the F2F Program that covers the Middle East and Northern Africa, or MENA. Lebanon is one of the core operating countries under the F2F MENA Program which is designed to enhance agricultural competitiveness in the MENA region and to ensure reliable and consistent national food supplies.
Job Description:
The Finance and Administration Manager will provide financial, accounting, and auditing support to Land O’Lakes by supervising the daily financial operations of the F2F Lebanon country program including cash flow, timesheets recording, and monitoring of budgets, spend down and fiscal obligations. S/he will a will also provide support to Key responsibilities including: Pay and account for all project expenditures; Manage fund transfers to and from headquarters and project site; Manage bank account and monitor balances; Prepare monthly budget projections and wire requests to home office; Enter transactions in to Costpoint accounting system; and Manage payroll, social/health insurance and tax payments. On the admin side, the candidate will be responsible for the logistics of fielding the volunteers in-country, including but not limited to, coordinating the assignment details with the HQ and field staff and ensuring contacts and booking with hotels in different regions of the country.
