The issues we addressare multiple, such as conflicts arising within Lebanon's diverse society, tensions resulting from theincreasing influx of Syrian refugees, security sector reform, as well as women’s socio-economicempowerment. In each project we seek to engage all stakeholders and strengthen local capacities inorder to create sustainable change and increase social cohesion.Summary of PositionThe program director will be responsible for oversight of the overall programming of SFCG Lebanon.S/he will work closely with SFCG Lebanon Country Director to ensure timely and quality implementationof all projects from a programmatic and financial perspective. The program director will provideguidance to project staff in the strategic planning of all SFCG Lebanon projects in order to ensure that allprojects are meeting SFCG quality standards, donors’ expectations, and budget constraints. This includesproviding a regular engagement with stakeholders and networking contacts with local partners anddonors community in Lebanon. The Program director will be responsible for leading fundraising effortsand reporting to donors about projects progress and successes. The organization has won numerousawards.Responsibilities Follow up on projects’ progress and donors compliance both in narrative and in budget,including reporting to donors about progress. Support the Country Director in the strategic planning at the office level and programme level Responsible for leading fundraising and programme development in close collaboration withCountry Director, including designing and writing of new projects’ proposals Supervise projects managers to ensure that the overall implementation of projects is in line withdonors expectations and achieve the expected results and objectives Responsible for finalizing donors’ narrative reports and support the Finance Department onfinancial reports from a programmatic perspective Take part in senior management meetings and contribute to finding solutions to bothprogrammatic and office challenges Support Country Director in overseeing the overall communication strategy for SFCG Lebanonand each project accordingly Responsible for managing interns in their tasks in order to build on their strengths in supportingthe office Support Country Director and DME team in organizing reflection days for each project andensure that lessons learned and best practices are collected Work closely with Finance team to ensure that projects’ spending is in line with donorsregulations Supports SFCG Country Director in liaising with donors, partners and other relevant actors aboutSFCG Lebanon programming and projects. Contributes to the overall structuring of the office and in ensuring that internal procedures meetthe needs of the office and of projects implementation. Provides guidance and strategic vision to projects managers and project coordinators.As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake otherduties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related area (Master’s Degree preferred), preferably in conflictresolution, international studies, peace-building, human rights or related area. Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including project financial management experience. Knowledge of major donor rules and regulations, and the ability to manage and prioritize multidonor funding Significant experience in project management in a non-profit environment Experience in refugee crisis response, education, psycho-social support, gender issues andSecurity Sector Reform will be an asset. Strong knowledge of the practice of peacebuilding and conflict transformation as well asfamiliarity with the Lebanese context.Skills Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners. Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations Excellent interpersonal and networking skills Spoken and written fluency in English, and Arabic would be an asset. Track record of conducting inter-cultural dialogue between highly divided communities. Strong oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated writing and grants management skills. Cultural sensitivity and adaptability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
