We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to fit the position of PSS GBV Assistant. Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job The PSS GBV Assistant is responsible for organization and provision of structured psychosocial support activities in mobile team and girls and women committees’ management. Duties• Identify settlements of vulnerable women and girls in the catchment areas of the centre-based activities; • To supervise mobile PSS, recreational and awareness activities in informal settlements, collective centres and other community spaces by creating a safe setting where women and girls can express their feelings and needs;• Carry out field visits and conduction of information sessions on available services, reproductive health, hygiene, etc.; • Identification and referrals of GBV survivors for case management and other specialized services; • To set up necessary measures and proper environment to ensure confidentiality during identification, intervention and referral of GBV cases;• Ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies);• Assist in establishing community support committees for women and girls. Committees should be linked with DRC community centers (SDC) or safe spaces (incl. recruitment, commitment, development of terms of reference, follow up, etc.)• Assist the PSS Officer in reporting of activities regarding PSS activities; About you To be successful in this role you must have Bachelor in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field, full knowledge about GBV related issues and very good communication skills with children, caregivers and local stakeholders. Also, At least 2 years of experience in provision of psychosocial support activities mainly with children and experience working as or with animators; Ideally you will also have Master degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field, very good reporting skills previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31st of December 2015, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1st of September 2015 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B+1, equivalent to 1,413$ per month.
