The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobThe Area Logistics and Procurement Officer is responsible to the Area Logistics and Procurement Manager for procurement of programme supplies and preparation of contracts in their location in the Bekaa; and supporting improvements in all logistical functions including supply chain management, in coordination with the Area Logistics & Procurement assistant and Area Logistics and Procurement Manager. Duties• Oversee procurement of all materials and equipment ordered by the projects in a cost-effective and transparent manner in line with DRC and donor specific policies• Participate in evaluation of bids and proposals and make sure the bids evaluation report, technical evaluation, minutes of negotiations and negotiated contract in selection of consultants contain all the facts and information required to justify the recommendations made in the report.  • Prepare and amend contract templates in a suitable format to comply with legal and donor regulations• Assist with warehouse management tasks when required including ensuring warehouse documentation is maintained in accordance with DRC policies, overseeing deliveries to and dispatches from DRC warehouses and checking stocks levels.• Oversee all tasks related to asset management including maintaining the asset register, asset cards and personal issue forms. Perform a quarterly physical asset check.• Assist with the management of the DRC fleet and drivers including movement planning, maintenance of vehicles and the compilation of regular fuel consumption reports/vehicle utilization analysis • Oversee and maintain appropriate IT, internet and communication resources for the office• Assist in all other responsibilities as delegated by the Area Logistics and Procurement Manager and/or Area Operations Manager About youEssential requirements:• Experience of procurement, contracting and/or logistics• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field. • Fluent Arabic and English (written and spoken)Desirable:• Experience working with NGOs• Experience of building and developing the capacity of logistics staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans.• Experience of preparing contract templates We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant an initial 6 month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from mid-August and be willing and able to work in Bekaa (both Zahle and Baalbek).Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
