General duties and responsibilities:
Act according to the guiding principles of Gender Based Violence (GBV), Child Protection (CP) and People with Specific Needs (PwSN) case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest;
Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case, with protection concerns (including survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management.
Ensure to act in a professional way according to the limitations of the job
Specific duties and responsibilities:
A. Case Management:
Detect, counsel and follow up individual cases identified by the team or referred by other agencies;
Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual’s well- being;
Plan with the Field Activity Coordinator (FAC) and Protection Officer (P.O.) and conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases in order to take the consent from child/survivor/Person of Concern (PoC) in providing help;
Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the clients to access needed resources and services;
Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing on need to know bases;
Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness;
Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided;
Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases;
Cooperate with internal services provided by INTERSOS (lawyer, psychologist, midwife, social worker) and support the cases with administrative procedures when needed (ex. accompany the survivors to hospitals, courts, Internal Security Forces - ISF) ;
Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients (high risk cases), according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the FAC and P.O.
Ensure that data protection protocol is respected;
Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the center, and in and outside the Region, including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required by the P.O and by the Project Manager (P.M.)
Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisor or the P.O. and P.M.
B. PSS Activities:
Participate and collaborate in other activities (recreational, psychosocial, awareness and non-formal education) conducted in INTERSOS center and/or in other partner’s centers when requested by the P.M.;
Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside the centre.
Administration:
Contribute to draft the weekly liquidity plan with the expenses to be done for the case management
In case of expenditure provide proper documentations (receipts, quotations etc…).
Signs daily attendance sheets.
Monitoring and Reporting
Provide weekly updates to the P.O. about new cases assessed;
Elaborate and send the weekly and monthly report to the P.O.
Update the internal case tracking sheets (weekly and monthly reporting)
Keep the documentation updated in the center
Qualifications:
Diploma in Human Sciences
At least one year work experience in community development positions;
Experience on GBV and CP issues;
Strong organizational skills;
Strong interpersonal skill and communication skills;
Good command of verbal and written English;
Good knowledge word and excel;
Driving license holder at least from 1 year;
Any change to the proposed activities should be discussed with INTERSOS Office.
A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description mat change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by her/his supervisor.
He/she knows INTERSOS Chart of Values, Code of Ethics, CP Policy, GVB standards and SOPs on the use of cars.
