Overall objective Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is searching for a highly qualified individual with a mind set to achieve success in a humanitarian organization working in a challenging but interesting environment Background The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. For further details, please click the following link: http://www.drc.dk/home/ The position The PM has the overall responsibility for leading, coordinating and overseeing DRC protection activities in Tripoli area. As a PM you will be reporting to the Area Program Manager and charged with: 1.Recruit, train and supervise protection staff;2.Ensure the implementation of protection programming and protection-related grants, including appropriate and timely spending of grants to achieve program goals, grants reporting contributions, use and distribution of supplies and resources;3.Ensure the submission of timely, accurate and well-written donor reports and other reporting requirements of protection programming (incl. Donors’ reports and Activity info);4.Ensure that implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program;5.Contribute in grants’ proposals to secure follow on or expansion funding for the protection program as per identified needs and in line with the Protection strategy;6.Develop comprehensive and tailored capacity building plans for CP and GBV staff and implementing partners based on respective needs and ensuring quality services;7.Actively participate in field-working groups and work closely with other sectors8.Represents DRC Protection before relevant donors at field level, including UNICEF and UNHCR Qualifications and experience required: •University degree or higher education relevant to human rights, law or other relevant fields;•Thorough understanding of best practices and strategies in protection programming (protection monitoring, GBV, Child protection)•Significant knowledge of International Human Rights and Refugee Law.•Proven experience in community mobilization•At least 5 years of proven experience in implementation of protection programming; human rights and/or advocacy work; ;•Proven experience working in emergency settings;•Strong program/technical and budget management skills•Ability to organize and facilitate capacity-building initiatives, including trainings for colleagues and partners•Familiarity with community-based protection programming and ability to incorporate lessons learned from similar experiences;•Experience in implementing projects through local partners and providing direct technical support to local organizations•Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties.•Above average computer literacy (incl. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level D1 during the probation period, equivalent to a Basic Salary of 2,015 USD per month.
