DRC has been operating in the MENA for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. About the jobIn compliance with best-practice and international standards in GBV response, provide direct psychosocial support for vulnerable women and girls and particularly GBV survivors. Case management services will include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery, implementing the action plan and ensuring appropriate follow up and close the case when appropriate. The case management process should be implemented through a survivor-centered approach.
Duties:• Provide age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable adolescence girls and children through the implementation of tools developed for caring for child survivors.• Provide psychosocial support in mobile safe spaces (SDCs, Community Centers, and Local NGOs) through group and awareness sessions.• File and store GBV data in the GBV IMS “Information Management System”, in compliance with the information sharing protocol developed at the inter-agency level.• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly and 3-month work plan upon senior case workers validation.• Support implementation on Monitoring and Evaluation tools and report on problems.• Receive referrals from deferent agencies, do action plan and appropriate response to each case.• Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the GBV Senior caseworker or by the Protection Manager.
About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field; • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; • Flexibility in working overtime when needed.• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel).• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well• At least 2 years of experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence or vulnerable women and girls with international organizations and humanitarian settings.• Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till 31th of December 2015, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 4th of August and be willing and able to work in Tyre.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. Basic Salary: 1413 USD per month.
