Job Purpose
The Jr. Financial Manager will ensure smooth running of the association's financial department by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
He/she is accountable for the accounting operations of the association, the production of periodic financial reports, and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, as well as budget and forecasts preparation.
Duties & Reponsibilities:
Reviews the financial reporting and purchasing guidelines of the donor;
Be aware of implementation plans/deadlines and schedules for projects;
Develops monthly expenditure forecasts to ensure projects are completed within budget;
Communicates with the project manager to ensure project implementation goes along with budget guidelines;
Reviews correctness of the budget posted on the accounting software;
Fills out forms related to advances and reimbursements of the donors;
Monitors the organization finance support documents;
Controls and analyses budget in coordination with project manager, and informs Ana Aqra Association’s finance committee on budget status concerns;
Prepares the financial report to go along requests for reimbursements;
Prepares all required documentation for financial auditors;
Prepares the final financial report;
Updates the program Director and the finance committee (then board) of the organization financial situation at all times;
Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors;
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information;
Ensures timely delivery of financial reports to donors and reports to director;
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;
CPA or CMA preferred;
Minimum 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience (including proven experience as a Controller);
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
Knowledge of financial regulations relating to NGOs;
Knowledge of the NGO operations (knowledge of reporting requirements for donors);
Experience in creating financial statements;
Previous Experience in managing project budgets;
Well-developed written and oral communication skills;
Excellent report-writing skill;
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills;
Ability to work in a team environment, and outside office hours when needed.
