General objective
The Shelter Field Officer is part of the Shelter Team, working on Shelter activities, including but not limited to construction and rehabilitation of shelters, upgrading of sanitation facilities, and distribution of relief items at field level, in the framework of PU-AMI’s Emergency Response and Development Program in Lebanon. The Shelter Field Officer works in close collaboration with team members of the Shelter and other departments, under the supervision of the Senior Management. He/she contributes to and is part of conducting surveys and assessments, collecting and processing of information, and reports. The Shelter Field Officer spends most of his/her time in the field and is in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries.
Responsabilities and tasks
Activities implementation
Ensure the timely distribution of shelter relief items to beneficiaries;
Supervise and carry out the implementation of shelter support activities, including but not limited to rehabilitation and construction of (individual and collective) shelters, reahbilitation and upgrading of sanitary facilities, and cash assistance.
Ensure respect of security rules and report immediately to the team leader and security manager.
Identification and referrals of needs and potential beneficiaries to assesment team
Provide technical advice to beneficiaries.
Ensure compliance with PU-AMI’s strategies and methodologies at field level.
Communicate and defend PU-AMI’s policies at field level.
Participate actively and constructively in team meetings.
Communication & Follow up
To participate in the field work and respond to beneficiaries’ queries with good knowledge of relevant information.
To respond to donor requests for special cases which need individual attention and follow their progress.
Reporting
Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the Shelter Senior Field Officer/team leader.
Report orally on the progress of Shelter activities on a daily and weekly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements
Work experience: Experience in NGOs/ On-site training in construction and social work
Computer Skills: Good knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook
Other requirements
Valid driving licence (for more 1 year minimum)
Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions and capacity building activities
Excellent geographical knowledge of the Area of Responsibility
Willingness and ability to travel within the Area of Responsibility
Capacity and experience in working unsafe environments
