Health Clinic Nurse

Under the overall supervision of the Head of IOM Office in Lebanon and under the direct supervision the Senior Operations Officer in IOM Beirut, in close coordination with the Regional Health Assessments Coordinator from IOM Amman for technical matters the incumbent is responsible to:   Performs both routine and sensitive clinical tasks required by the Migration Health Physician during Migration Health Assessments, in particular: Positively identify refugee migrants prior to their Laboratory and Radiology examinations, ensure antifraud measures are fully implemented at these stages of Migration Health Assessment, decode serology results (if requested by the supervisors), take and record medical history, perform anthropometrics, visual acuity and vital signs measurements. Record and attach laboratory results in the medical files. Also Liaises with the data assistant to make appointments for Drs’ examination. Confirm the candidate Identity during the laboratory and radiological evaluation. Interpretate the consent form for the patients before the Health assessment following each project particularity: Contact the consultant doctors and agree on examination schedule Correspond with other hospitals for admission and reports of admitted cases and coordinates with the responsible Dr in keeping track of such cases. Provides info regarding TB data while referring clients to TB clinic or NTBP. Updates the files in coordination with the Dr responsible Administers prescriptions/recommendations ordered by the Migration Health Physicians, including application of appropriate treatment and vaccines Prepares, install or sterilizes medical equipment needed for medical examination. Requests and re-stocks required medical supplies and drugs and medicines. Monitors and reports expiration dates of drugs and medicines and refers to Chief Nurse for disposal. Maintains and safe-keeps medical kits used by medical escorts and staff on duty mission. Performs pre-departure medical checks and administers treatment for traveling refugees/migrants. Prepares a report about the therapy, according to the country of resettlement requirements.  Coordinates with the TB assistant about work at the TB clinic-or the national TB program Participates in field missions in out of duty stations and as act nurse escort of medical cases.  Ensures timely return of all completed medical forms to the respective embassies, High commissions and Data Provo unit within IOM Amman. Training new nurses in other missions within the region Maintains confidentiality of information and collaborative relationship with clients, partners and health professionals. Review the service providers invoices (specialist referrals, hospital, medical centres), prepare their payments. Performs any other duties that may be assigned by from time to time.
