Psychosocial Support (Pss) Officer

Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobImplement and monitor psychosocial programs related to Child Protection and gender-based violence (GBV) center-based and outreach activities Duties• Supervise the center-based and mobile teams of PSS assistants in urban and rural areas;• Organize day-to-day time management and work related to mobile and center-based PSS activities (incl. development of weekly schedule and staff work plan); • Receive referrals from different agencies and local actors and provide feedback of actions taken; Ensure UNICEF PSS components are on track, including the development of new materials for awareness-raising in coordination with the line manager and the PSS/CP coordinator• Assist the Protection Manager in reporting of activities regarding PSS activities; Contribute to the overall protection/CS weekly/monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the Protection Manager;• Maintain and update database on PSS activities (incl. monitoring data entry on Activity info); Provide trainings to PSS assistants and other DRC staff on PSS activities (incl. PSS curricula for caregivers, men, women, children and adolescent girls, emotional support groups, etc.)• Coordinate and keep close communication with UNICEF and UNHCR as well as other local and international child protection and GBV partners; • Maintain good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders; Organize protection training in coordination with line manager to strengthen committees capacity to identify and refer protection cases• Participate in the CPWG, Education Working Group and other for a established for coordination of Child Protection activities and interventions. About youTo be successful in this role you must have Bachelor/ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field; At least 3-4 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically working with cases of Child Protection or GBV; Experience in managing teams ; Flexibility in working overtime when needed; Experience in providing trainings and building capacity of staff.Ideally you will also have Master’s degree in Social Work and/or Psychology; previous experience in working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Previous experience in working with cases of Child Protection and GBV.
