Dfid Program Coordinator

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a DFID Program Coordinator. Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Develop the overall work plan for the relevant project  in coordination with relevant staff and follow up on the day-to-day implementation of project activities;• Supervise and provide leadership ensuring that project objectives and activities are understood, internalized and carried out by field staff;• Organize monthly project review meetings (national) to ensure that  both financial and programme performance is on track• Regularly visit and support 5 DFID focal points in the field and relevant field staff, to support monthly reforecasting, work plan and target review, and work plan revision/ target re-planning processes are happening. (Minimum 2 days per month in each office) • Liaise with relevant staff to ensure methodological guidelines are followed, to ensure project quality and consistency across Field Offices/ Areas of Intervention (as relevant)• Maintain, update, and record changes to, key project management tools, including staffing, procurement, spending and activity plans and project needs on a monthly basis;• Provide regular reports to Head of Grants on all aspects of project implementation and possible obstacles;• Liaise with Regional DFID grants coordinator on project progress, and key areas of donor concern/ interest• Lead national drafting of all donor reports, grant amendments and future proposals relating to the assigned projects• Attend sector working group meetings (Shelter, Livelihoods, Social Stability) in Beirut as required, and disseminate information to relevant staff About youEssential • Experience with project cycle management and project management tools such as logical frameworks, work plans, budgets and forecasts, and monitoring and evaluation plans and indicator tracking;• Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building, presentation skills, communication;• Demonstrated ability and effectiveness in dealing with internal and external actors at different levels;• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Arabic• University degree or equivalent in social science, development studies, human rights, business, law or any other related field;• At least three year successful track record of project management experience;• At least five years professional work experience. Desirable• Master’s degree or equivalent in social science, development studies, human rights, business or any other related field; • At least one year project management experience in the field of shelter, protection, or community development;• Experience in governance (including community empowerment, self-management, liaison with local stakeholders, conflict mitigation) strongly preferred;• Experience in development/ humanitarian work in Lebanon.
