Program Associate

Program Associate World Learning has vacancies for Program Associate  for the USAID-funded “Improved Basic Education Services Program” (IBESP) in Lebanon. The position is for Lebanese nationals or residents of Lebanon. Background:  IBESP is a four-year, $41.2 million project that will improve both access to education and learning outcomes in primary schools, in addition to supporting institutional effectiveness across MEHE.  IBESP aims to improve outcomes in reading at the primary level, under the assumption that increased literacy directly correlates to increased academic and professional achievement.  Improved facilities, services, and teaching – along with more effectively engaged communities and school councils – will not only improve learning outcomes, but also increase the chances of youth to persist in the formal education system. The project has three components: Component 1: Improving reading outcomes for primary level public school students Component 2: Expanding access to safe and relevant education for vulnerable public school students Component 3: Strengthening management (resilience) in the education system to better direct and monitor education   Primary Responsibilities:   Act as liaison between the IBESP management, component leads, partners, staff and other as required Provide daily administrative support by creating calendars, scheduling appointments for internal and external events, providing logistical support, recording and disseminating meeting minutes, drafting correspondence, and coordinating travel/field visits’ arrangements Review and summarize background documentation and assist in the backstopping of program in close collaboration with component leaders Conduct research to identify appropriate program components activities and assist in the preparation of proposals Prepare briefing and program materials Maintain data files (electronically and manually) and manage internal databases Facilitate the implementation of activities upon request and assist in the related follow-up and reporting Contribute to the development of quarterly program reports Represent WL/Project at meetings and conferences, relevant to the subject and themes of the portfolio and disseminate information regarding WL, as requested Participate in internal working groups, as requested or assigned Other related tasks as assigned  Required Qualifications: BA in Education, Social Sciences, Management and other related fields 3 years of experience in coordination in similar educational programs Previous experience with a non-profit organization, with International NGO is preferred Proven strong written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic Ability to work as a team player and adapt to quick changing situations Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability
