Overall objectiveDanish Refugee Council (DRC) is searching for a competent protection professional to fill out the position as Protection Analyst BackgroundThe Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. In the frame of its humanitarian response towards the Syrian refugee crisis, DRC is implementing a programming to support and provide assistance to vulnerable groups and persons with specific needs.  Activities are implemented through a community-based approach in order to empower refugee and host communities to prevent and respond to protection concerns. DRC currently operates in five locations in Lebanon, namely North and Central/West Bekaa, Akkar, Tripoli and South. For further details, please click the following link: http://www.drc.dk/home/   The positionThe Protection Analyst will be responsible for understanding the protective environment in the Bekaa and North Lebanon through compiling and analysis protection monitoring data and producing reports detailing advocacy protection concerns and needed action by key stakeholders.  As a Protection Analyst, you will be reporting to the Protection Coordinator and charged with: Regularly extract and analyze protection data collected by the protection monitoring teams on tablets and analyze relevant protection data collected by other sectors when needed (CSMC, CEL) Maintain an up-to-date protection database  with accurate information on protection concerns identified by Protection monitoring teams; Review and translate protection monitoring data collected by Protection Assistants into analysis format on weekly basis; Produce weekly basic data analysis and monthly trends analysis on protection concerns, with the support of the Protection Manager; Analyze results of qualitative and quantitative M&E tools for our protection program (incl. CP/GBV) Attend PWG and sub-groups along with the Protection Managers when requested to and when relevant attend field-level Information Management Working Group Maintain information on referral processes and pathways through update and developing service mapping tool for referral focal points Provide technical support to Protection assistants and officer regarding the use of digital data entry and analysis tools; Qualifications and Experience required Experience in working in research, statistical analysis and information management Very strong analytical and reporting skills; Excellent English written skills. Great IT skills combined with a knowledge of protection principles High level education with direct experience in social research methodologies and statistics Ideally, you will possess the following: Experience working for International NGO is preferred; Excellent reporting and communication skills, Familiarity with ODK tablets; Previous experience in humanitarian settings; Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon Master degree in Social work, Law, Human rights or other related field; Experience in an NGO, preferably in social or legal work with international organization; We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, irrespective of race, gender or age.  We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs.
