Field Worker
Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.
Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 21 countries in Africa, the Near East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.
PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.
POSITION GENERAL INFORMATION

Under the direct supervision of: Public Health Team Leader
Under the indirect supervision of: Health Project Manager

Under the overall supervision of: Field Coordinator
OVERALL MISSION
General objective
Under the direct supervision of the Public Health Team Leader, the Public Health Field Worker is responsible for providing quality information and health education in order to ensure access to health care by Syrian refugees with respect of PU-AMI overall principles. He/she directly provide quality information and health education to Syrian refugees.
Responsibilities and tasks
Activities implementation
- Conduct surveys using specific formats .
- Ensure the dissemination of the information on the referral system to Syrian refugees.
- Ensure the provision of health education to Syrian refugees on the topics related to hygiene, maternal and child health, nutrition and other topics according to their needs.
- Participate in the implementation of the project impact survey.
- Participate in the mass distrubtion of Family Hygiene Kits & Baby Hygiene Kits.
The tasks and responsabilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements
Language Skills: Fluent in Arabic, good command of English.
Education Degree: Bac II.
Work experience: Proven experience in NGOs.
Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel, Outlook
Other requirements
- Valid driving licence (1 year minimum)
- Good knowledge of Akkar governorate geography, willing to travel a lot locally
- Excellent communication (especially in public) and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially tense situations
- Literacy in reporting, experience in conducting surveys
