Job Overview/Summary:The employer relations officer will be responsible for developing strategic relationships with employers and finding suitable vacancies for beneficiaries.
The main objectives of this position are:
Ensure that key relationships are developed and nurtured with employers to provide apprenticeship and employment opportunities for beneficiaries and assess the business needs of Lebanese employers.
Major Responsibilities:
Develop strong relationships with employers in the region to support the project activities for job placement
Visit employers, NGOs, UN, vocational training providers and microfinance and business support services to explain the role of the Livelihoods Center and its services, to obtain job vacancies and refer jobseekers on a weekly basis
Conduct analysis on employers in the Mount Lebanon region, based on desk review of existing information and mapping (with M&E team) of existing businesses and branches.
Initiate discussions with Lebanese employers on their strengths and weaknesses, and promote IRC’s business development services.
Assist in the data collection on the local labor market and enter collected information on job vacancies, training opportunities and self-employment support programs into the database
Generate reports on vacancies and visits
Hold information sessions amongst Livelihoods Center staff on findings of the outreach activities
Inform employers and jobseekers on labor law regulations applying to Lebanese workers, as well as to Syrian refugees and migrant workers
Produce statistics as required
Ensure publication of job vacancies and other career opportunities

Job Requirements:
2-3 years of experience in sales, communications, marketing, recruitment or equivalent field.
Computer literate with significant experience in excel, some experience with databases or GIS preferred
Demonstrated experience in report writing, preparing a presentation and effective verbal communication
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Fluency in English and Arabic
Proactive approach to making connections and taking new ideas forward
Team player
Can confidently work in a stressful environment
Working Environment:
Travel and other requirements: Staff will be based in Mount Lebanon with some travel required between the field office and the main IRC office in Beirut, and frequent travel within Mount Lebanon to work with employers.
