Database/it Officer

Under supervision of the Program Manager and in coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, the Database/IT Officer is responsible for administering information technology tools and processes for all IRD programs in Lebanon, as well as program monitoring activities for the FCO-funded civil society project in Lebanon; the specific duties include:   IT Tasks: Providing appropriate advice regarding the steps that should be taken in a particular situation. Should respond to staff IT queries and make arrangement to provide solutions. Facilitate the repair work if any Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the program management. Visiting the IRD’s premises if the problem is serious and requires special skills for handling the same Schedule regular maintenance at least once a month to check all the IT environment is working well and in good condition. Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstations. Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstations. Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software. Assist with onboarding of new users by installing all the required software, applications and hardware. Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive and any additional specialized equipment. Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software, ensuring that all installations are licensed; no trail or cracked programs are allowed at IRD workstations at any circumstances. Report issues to the IRD/HQ IT help desk for escalation. Assign users and computers to proper groups in active directory Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required Report to the IRD/HQ IT help desk. Undertake any other duty as assigned by the IRD Lebanon program management. Database Tasks:   Model the automatic extraction of indicators and figures Maintain high quality of data integrity Document the data in IRD database management system Support implementation of M&E plans in alignment with project's indicators Follow-up with IRD programmers the performance of mobile data collection tools and flow of information Support in building questionnaires and forms Control well presentation of information on maps Test and Modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably High level of competency in Excel and ODK systems Working knowledge with MS Visual Basic & SQL Ability to design xls forms Any other duty as assigned by the FCO-funded project management
