M&e Specialist

Objective of the position: To support the monitoring and evaluation of War Child’s child protection, education and psychosocial support program, implemented by local partner organizations. Key tasks and responsibilities: The M&E Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Development Manager. He/she will be responsible to: Develop and structure a revised monitoring and evaluation strategy for the program, considering implementation by partners in the field and remote management from War Child’s Beirut office. Develop child friendly and participatory tools to monitor the implementation and impact of activities, integrating feedback from children, caregivers and implementing partners. Analyze information received through monitoring and evaluation tools to generate data on the implementation and impact of activities, that is contextualized and disaggregated by age and gender, and that is presented in a way to help inform and improve the programming.   Time-frame The Consultant is a full-time position (5 days per week). The position will last for 6 months, with possibility of extension depending on performance.   Duty station and travel arrangements The Consultant will be based at the War Child office in Beirut.   Project inputs War Child Holland will provide the Consultant with a monthly salary commensurate with experience, as well as transportation and communication costs, and a laptop computer.   Required skills and competencies Fluency in Arabic (and proficiency in English). Extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects; particular added value if experience with child protection and psychosocial support programming. Experience with child friendly, participatory, and inclusive methods of programming. Knowledge and understanding of the humanitarian context in Syria. Strong organization skills. Able to work independently and to take initiative.
