Information Management Expert - Ime (National)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In close coordination and consultation with the Local Coordinator and the Project Manager, the Information Management Expert will responsible in defining and implementing an Information Management System (IMS) and ensure coherence among IMS approaches and GVC intervention in the country.   S/he will ensure that IMS requirements will be adequately addressed, including data collection, storage, analysis, dissemination tools and procedures. Designing a IMS coherence with the assessment and monitoring tools elaborated by GVC. Entering data coming from the staff working in the field. Analyzing projects data, identify and address IMS gaps, and facilitate information sharing between GVC Staff and other NGOs or international agencies. Identifying new information and data requirements to support operations and support GVC offices in gathering and sharing this information and data. Programming & operations Identifying field requirements in terms of data extraction in coordination with the PM; Analyzing data; Producing maps, trends and graphs (GIS); Developing reporting tools in coordination with the PM; Developing data management tools in coordination with the PM; Any other duties as agreed with the GVC Project Manager. Capacity Building Developing training tools, guidelines and other SOPs for GVC staff; Training GVC dedicated staff; Preparing Reports internally weekly achievements; Accountability Ensuring that data respect confidentiality and is compliant with GVC accountability principles   QUALIFICATIONS Advanced university degree in information technology, demography, statistics, social sciences or any related area. At least 2 years combined field and/or headquarters experience in international organizations Proven skills to analyze statistical information. Experience with relevant software such as ODK, SPSS, EpiInfo6, SQL language, and/or progress is desirable. Experience in data mining is an asset. Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, functions, etc.). GIS knowledge. Experience with relevant software such as ArcGIS, MapInfo. Ability to formulate IM-related technical requirements and Operating Procedures. Ability to translate planning-specifications into technical briefs for data capture and analysis, and vice versa. Ability to compile and holistically analyze diverse datasets. Experience with handling confidential data. Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies including relational data theory Excellent knowledge of English. PERSONAL AND INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS Good communication skills Arabic and Fluency in written and spoken English Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines Strong sense of responsibility Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members as well as beneficiaries
