Project Coordinator For Integrated Management Of Acute Malnutrition (Imam)

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is the official humanitarian relief agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.  Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has delivered $488 million in relief and development programs to families and communities in more than 50 countries. IOCC seeks a full-time motivated Project Coordinator for Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) who will be responsible for the implementation and management of the project component on integrated management of acute malnutrition as part of the UNICEF-funded nutrition project implemented by IOCC. The Project Coordinator for IMAM is responsible to provide technical support and guidance on management of malnutrition and for the follow up on program implementation related to IMAM as well as providing relevant capacity building for program staff. He/she is also responsible for compiling progress reports and documentation and sharing of best practices and lessons learned in IMAM.    Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plan, supervise, manage and monitor implementation of the IMAM component of the project including: Ensure proper nutrition and medical management is provided to the beneficiaries. Evaluate the impact of programs through regular field visits, data collection and reports.  Monitor program activities to ensure that treatment centers achieve acceptable performance indicators Conduct trainings on health and nutrition topics (including screening, management and treatment of acute malnutrition and micronutrient distribution) to staff, partner NGOs and agencies, where necessary.  Follow up and provide ongoing technical support to the activities and staff in PHCs and in the field. Supervise team at the national level to ensure proper fulfillment of tasks and participate in the recruitment process of team when applicable. Assess, discuss and address program challenges with team and program coordinator. Conduct regular staff meetings for the Health and Nutrition team and contribute to building the capacity of the team. Collaborate with the potential partners in the field to improve the coverage and the efficiency of the programs Communicate and liaise internally with other IOCC departments as needed Ensure replenishment and availability of program supplies. Contribute to arranging visits for media, donors, and partners and represent IOCC during visits to the field.  Establish strong links and relationships with program stakeholders including PHCs, SHCs, partner NGOs, beneficiaries, municipalities, local NGOs, Caza Physicians, MoPH PHC Coordinators and donors. Attend and participate in IOCC meetings and capacity building activities. Liaise with local authorities and MoH personnel regularly, reporting to them and giving them updates on activities. Submit weekly reports on achievements related to IMAM, prepare monthly/quarterly reports as needed. Report back to Program Coordinator on a regular basis. Perform other duties as required or assigned   Qualifications A.    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):  Self-motivated and initiative taker Organized Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions Proven capacity in management, leadership and teamwork Proven capacity in writing reports Proven capacity in training Excellent communication skills and team building skills Ability to meet deadlines Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint Willingness to use personal car and to frequently travel to the field. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English  B.    Education:   B.Sc. in Nutrition, Public Health, Health or related domain; M.Sc is an advantage.  C.    Experience:   At least 3 years work experience; or 1 year work experience with M.Sc. Previous experience in NGO, and humanitarian field is an advantage Previous experience in CMAM/IMAM program implementation is an advantage
