RESPONSIBILITIES Participate to the assessment on IYCF practices. Implement and monitor nutritional counseling and screening activities. DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS Objective 1: Needs analysis and adapting approaches to cultural context: In collaboration with the psychologist to assess on a regular base IYCF practices among the Syrian refugee community settled in the intervention area. To determine which are the good practices and the practices that needs improvement among Syrian community. Objective 2: Implementing nutrition individual counselling Run home visit and assessment for cases identify as in need of breastfeeding or individual counselling Implementing techniques to facilitate the Breastfeeding practices by: Increasing breast milk production Proposing Re-lactation after stop breastfeeding Training and supervision of manual expression of breast milk Objective 3: Actively participate and monitor the referral system in Aarsal on screening and breastfeeding counselling Receive referral from external stakeholder and run home visit and individual support, if needed, accordingly Refer cases in need of support to ACF program or external program Monitor the screening activity run through the mobile unit and provide referral accordingly Objective 4: Participate in collecting information on the beneficiaries’ needs in terms of psychosocial and mental health Be capable of identifying the most vulnerable groups of individuals in need of psychological help. Observe and collect information during the programme activity sessions on the beneficiaries’ needs in terms of mental health. Include this information systematically in each activity report. Objective 5 : Regular screening in intervention area Check the children’s state of health, monitor their growth, measure the MUAC and test for oedema. Inform the parents of the nutritional status of their child. Refer malnourish cases to the nearest Primary Health Care (PHC) centres or the Hospital. Objective 6: Reporting Participate to creation/revision of project tools Realize a weekly and monthly report Participate to external reports if needed If required, attend meetings with other nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) on the one hand, to inform them of ACF work on nutrition and, on the other hand, to be informed of the progress of other NGOs in this field. Due to the emergency context, the nutritionist can be requested to participate to any other nutrition activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs and the humanitarian situation. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE At least 1 year experience in health, nutrition or social activities  Sense of confidentiality Skilled activity leader Good listening, good communication and adaptation capacity Good relations with people Have good empathy and be patient Speak and write Arabic, fluent English (writing and speaking) highly appreciate. Have a minimum knowledge on infant and young child care practices, including feeding and have the capacity and motivation to learn more in a short space of time.
