Legal Consultant/ Trainer/lawyer

THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY:World Vision Lebanon is looking for a short term professional legal expert with a strong background and experience in Lebanese legal system and advocacy. The consultant’s main role will be to train World Vision partners and staff on systems and procedures in Lebanon.This is part of a project which is implemented by World Vision to support Lebanese communities in engaging with local and national actors in addressing issues for improved local governance and citizen’s engagement.DESCRIPTION OF TASKS REQUIRED- The Consultant will be asked to prepare and deliver training material to World Vision staff and partners in Bekaa.- The training must be delivered in Arabic and it is expected from the consultant to provide a detailed report including the material of the trainingThe themes to be covered by the training are requested as follows:• The role and powers of the Lebanese parliament in the process of preparing and drafting laws• The role and powers of the individual ministers and government together in the process of preparing and drafting laws• The difference between the laws, decrees and circulars issued by the Minister and the process of accountability for each of them• Tools and mechanisms for lobbying and advocacy to modify any of the laws, decrees and otherCONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:- Degree in law, or its equivalent.- Proven experience in legal systems and governance- Experience in engaging with civil society and NGO environmentDURATION OF THE CONSULTANCY:The consultant will provide services for WVL as needed in one day during the month of May 2015.   For interested applicants, Please send the following:1.
