Information Officer

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who can engage in our organization as an Information Officer. Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Under the direction of the CPM, the Information Officer will be responsible for collecting all information post-interviews with Interview Officers and ensuring the data is stored in a secure and confidential manner;• Make sure the files are maintained in an organized fashion, so as to facilitate easy access to case files for Interview Officers and the Country Project Manager;• Provide refugee families who visit the field office with all necessary and relevant information, including but not limited to: directions to the office, briefing on the procedures to be followed and what to expect, instructions (as requested by the Interview Officers) for upcoming interviewees;• Offer visitors information on other existing services in their area of residence whenever possible through a pre-designed informational pamphlet and explain how they may access these services and any key messages relevant to DRC’s protection work in Jordan;• Maintain the field office hotline and respond to all incoming calls from refugee families or others;• Respond to queries on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: steps in the interview process and beyond, what to bring to an interview, how to reach the office, who to contact for more specific information (in coordination with the Interview Officers), what to expect from DRC and the Partner; About you• At least 2years of experience working with vulnerable populations in an information management role, preferably with an international organization;• Demonstrated experience working with data management, high level of proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word;• Strong written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English;• Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments;• Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges;• Familiarity with international protection standards an advantage.
