GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES To assume responsibility for the daily technical planning, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the WASH project in Aarsal.  To provide leadership to field team.  To support the Aarsal Project Manager  to ensure proper coordination with community and municipalities.  SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS Objective 1: Supervision of WASH related activities Provide technical input and advice in emergency response water and sanitation activities, waste management and hygiene promotion Support the Project Manager to  define the work plan.  Direct and support the field staff to implement the work plan Monitor the implementation of all project activities.  these include distribution of equipment, water trucking and desludging and HP ) Ensure the work is properly done and the resources are used wisely Coordinate with the field team, the municipality focal point and the Project Manager Ensure that the project activities are introduced and coordinated at the municipality level Support the development and maintenance of external relations particularly with beneficiaries, municipality staff, donors and other NGOs Be aware of the security for the staff, ACF premises and equipment, and report any relevant incidents to the Project Manager.  Be prepared to adjust project implementation to mitigate security risks when required Objective 2: Team management Supervise the staff under his/her supervision to ensure they are working effectively and to the best of their capacity Participate in staff training, helping to build technical capacity of staff and volunteers in the area of WASH Mentor and coach colleagues and team members, building their capacity to obtain high quality results and impacts. Support the relations with other ACF staff particularly the support staff and M&E staff from Zahle Base and Beirut Country Office Helps to develop and execute context-specific solutions to improve collaboration, coordination and performance of the ACF staff and volunteers. Objective 3: Reporting. Report the progress of the work to the Project Manager. Report possible problems or delays during the activities to the Project Manager.  This should be done as soon as possible to prevent the problems or delays becoming critical and to allow mitigation measures to be implemented quickly. Report the use of all reseources and possible improvements to that use. Implement dData collection regarding the project and beneficiaries. Objective 4: Other WaSH related activities Participate in the conducting of assessments, surveys and monitoring of the project as and when requested. Participate to the distribution of water and sanitation items if requested by the Project Manager. Support  the field teams during construction and other activities. Due to the emergency context, the Field supervisor may be requested to participate to any other nutrition, mental health and care practices activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs and the humanitarian situation PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Experience in a similar position required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES Computer skills (Microsoft Office suite including access) Fluent Arabic, Good English level (written, reading and writing) Team leadership, reporting capacity, organised and rigorous, availability/learning capacity Ability to work in a team, interpersonal qualities and diplomacy, flexible with respect to job priority Ability ot prioritise a large workload for self and the team – Agrees with the principles and objectives of ACF.
