Second- Gender Consultant

    Terms of Reference   Gender Consultant     BRIEF OF PROJECT   Gender-based violence (GBV) is an issue that World Vision in Lebanon has been engaging using different approaches and methodologies. Through an unpcoming initiative, World Vision will be implementing a model called Channels of Hope. The Channels of Hope model (developed by World Vision International) was developed and piloted over the last decade and has been adapted to address gender issues through a review and reinterpretation of religious messaging. Participants are supported to revisit interpretations of gender through biblical texts that demonstrate good practice in gender relationships, highlighting the positive contributions attributed to women of faith and the messages of equality contained in religious teachings. In line with the emphasis on capacity building, support and encouragement, the initiative seeks to build the capacity of religious to participate in relief and development initiatives which contribute to the reduction of GBV within the communities in which they work.   DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES   Action Description  Roles Timeline  Contextualizing Material    Follow up with a service provider on the translation of the master material (developed y WVI) into Arabic.   Number of days: 1 Consultant follows up on progress   WV indentifies and contracts a translator Mid May Conduct the Baseline assessment Ensure the delivery of a baseline assessment in coordination with World Vision’s Design, Monitoring and Evaluation team.   Anticipated number of days: 5 WV provides support in designing the methodology   Consultant to conduct KIIs as required   Consultant  complies the data in a report Mid May   Preparation of CoH Workhop   Ensure logistical preparation of the workshop planed for end of May    Anticipated number of days: 8 Consultant to ensure printing/binding of material and other relevant preparatory workshop management tasks   WV identifies venue & participants May  Attending Workshop   Participate at the workshop as an attendee and provide on site logistical support as required    Number of days: 3 Consultant: Full time participation/engagement at the workshop     WVI – delivering the content of the workshop    Last week of May    Coaching and Mentoring Provide support and encouragement to community initiatives on GBV implemented by religious communities     Anticipated number of days: 15 Consultant with guidance from WV conducts regular visits to local faith communities to support in planning and implementing relevant activities on awareness-raising as part of the workshop follow up plans   Consultant provides project visit briefs/documentation May till September End of Project     Evaluation of the initiative   Anticipated number of days: 5 Consultant to conduct KIIs as required   Consultant  to analyze data together with relevant WV departments  September     TIMELINE   The consultant is expected to start working on the initiative as soon as possible and the program ends by Mid September 2015 as per specific activities and deliverables.
