Child Psychotherapist

Overall Responsibility Child Psychotherapist will be responsible for assisting and providing support to the Child Welfare Projects Officer in implementations of the psychosocial project and being a focal between Islamic Relief and the psychotherapy center. Main Duties and Responsibilities Assessing children needs. Diagnosing psychological troubles of Syrian children using verbal interaction to explore child behaviors, attitudes and emotions. Working alongside other professionals in planning how best to help a child and the child's family in the community. Referring psychological children patients to psychotherapy center/ clinic. Encouraging children to talk about and explore their feelings and behaviors. Running group sessions in a training capacity for other professionals, such as social workers, and volunteers. Following up with psychotherapy center/ clinic case by case. Evaluating therapy outcomes and writing reports; Undergoing supervision with psychotherapy center/ clinic. Convening team meetings to ensure communication and quality control. Maintaining contact with Psychosocial Project Officer. Respecting and applying Islamic Relief policies and procedures such as “Child Protection Policy”.
