Foster Care/parenting Skills Training Consultant

Objectives          To develop and adapt available training material on  foster care / good parenting to the Lebanese contexts To train potential foster families on parenting skills, child development, child rights and child protection       The envisaged outcomes of this consultancy include:   Available training material in Arabic, including handouts and basic training presentations At least 5 potential foster families trained on positive parenting, child protection basic principles, children rights, basic PSS concepts A final report with evaluation of trainings and presentation of lesson learn and recommendations       Outputs and Deliverables       Develop specific training material in Arabic adapting available training material on alternative care, PSS and positive parenting (ACiE Toolkit – Save the Children) Train the selected families (selection will be done previously by INTERSOS protection staff in the field) Elaborate a final report of the activity that includes:      Training module and tools that take into consideration the lessons learnt from this training and that will enable INTERSOS to carry out this training independently in the future. Capacity building report. An evaluative lessons learnt report on the capacity building process which contains recommendations for future similar initiatives          Duty Station and Duration       10 Working Days:   5 Working Days to Adapt the Training Material   3 Working Days to deliver the Training   2 Working Days to elaborate the final report       Qualifications, Skills and Experience       A Master Degree in social sciences, social work or Psychology Demonstrated experience in capacity building Strong knowledge of child protection issues, including care givers support and children PSS Good knowledge of established inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection are implemented and followed in all field programmes, such as the Inter-agency Guidelines on Separated and Unaccompanied Children, SC Child Friendly Spaces Demonstrated training/coaching skills as well as knowledge of planning, monitoring and measuring the impact of capacity building.  Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work with culturally sensitive issues as part of a dynamic and diverse team Working knowledge of the Arabic and English
