Psychosocial Support Officer

The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobThe PSS Officer has the overall responsibility to manage centre-based and outreach team of PSS assistants and caseworkers in providing psychosocial support to women, men, caregivers, children and adolescent girls based on geographical coverage and to develop and coordinate the work of the youth, men and women committees. Duties• Supervise the centre-based and mobile teams of PSS assistants in urban and rural areas;• Organize day-to-day time management and work related to mobile and centre-based PSS activities (incl. development of weekly schedule and staff work plan); • Receive referrals from different agencies and local actors and provide feedback of actions taken; • Ensure UNICEF PSS components are on track, including the implementation of the Risk Assessment Visits and the development of new materials for awareness-raising.• Liaise with local partners (SDC, CBOs, etc.) and communities on areas for PSS interventions – including liaison with communities on mobile activities About youTo be successful in this role you must have:a) Essential qualifications: • Bachelor/ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field;• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times. b) Essential experience:• At least 2-3 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically working with cases of Child Protection or GBV;• Experience in providing trainings and building capacity of staff.• Preferred: Master’s degree in Social work and / or Psychology We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs.
