Health Team Leader - North

neUnder the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Lebanon and direct supervision of the Health Programme Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Beirut, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing health activities particularly within the framework of the project ”Enhancing Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment for Syrian Refugees and Other Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon” funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Emergency Fund Mechanism. In particular, he/she will: 1. Supervise the work of health outreach/ TB treatment follow-up field staff and community health volunteers in the north and ensure that all required tasks are completed promptly. 2. Plan, implement and supervise potential outreach, health awareness and screening activities for tuberculosis. 3. Establish an appropriate referral network of TB cases with partners in the area to facilitate and fasten the diagnosis and treatment process of these cases 4. Conduct regular visits to the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) TB center in Tripoli; maintain direct contact with the center manager, and assist in the management of the daily activities related to IOM’s TB project. 5. Act as a liaison between IOM emergency health staff in Beirut and the national tuberculosis program (NTP) center in Tripoli. 6. Coordinate all activities conducted by IOM for the NTP center in Tripoli, including but not limited to data collection, purchase and distribution of materials, arranging trainings and meetings. 7. Participate in assessments/surveys of the beneficiaries’ health needs and needs of the supported tuberculosis centers. 8. Report any difficulties and challenges to the IOM Beirut emergency health unit 9. Monitor health projects’ process, specifically with the aim of increasing effectiveness and recommending appropriate actions in coordination with the National Public Health Specialist and Health Programme Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Beirut. 10. Coordinate other IOM health activities in the North including primary healthcare and research activities. 11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education Degree Details
a) Undergraduate/postgraduate degree in a clinical health field (preferably medicine or nursing); b) minimum two years of relevant work experience, including managerial responsibilities on field level; c) experience in the public health sector in Lebanon; knowledge of project development, implementation and monitoring is an advantage; d) demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian system through work experience and/or studies; e) willingness to undertake frequent travel to field locations across his/her area of responsibility.
